Wow, I'm shocked! How can that actually be legal?? It's clearly NOT good faith. They've actually said they are not acting in good faith. I just don't understand it.

I'm only surprised that these big companies have to pay a law firm to advise them on how to avoid hiring local people and bring in what they consider better educated foreign workers, since they all have their own legal departments. High tech companies have complained since the 1990s about the poor education systems in the US that doesn't prepare people
for high tech jobs. I have no idea whether that's true or not since I'm not in that industry, but they appear to have found a legal way to avoid additional training expense by hiring more foreign people who they consider better qualified. Maybe people looking for an IT career in the U.S. should go to college in India?

The video is accurate. The skills gap is bull crap. The only shortage in STEM is in the number of suckers willing to work for the crap wages and no benefits companies want to pay. The h1-b program is all about bringing in cheap slave labor that US companies can under pay and overwork with the threat of losing their visa as leverage to keep them from quitting like a US worker would.

During a recession last decade Bill Gates went before congress saying that the shortage of programmers was hurting MS and other companies and they needed an h1-b free for all. That was right after Microsoft laid off hundreds of American programmers. The same thing is happening in science. We have companies advertising for science staff wanting to pay $12 per hour and no benefits and American PhD's giving up on science or spending a decade in post-doc limbo all the while we get business leaders and politicians implying Americans are too stupid and lazy to take up STEM.

The breathtaking immorality by American business leaders never ceases to make me sick.
