When I worked for a hotel for a little less than a year, front desk agents never worked the same shift. The "manager" worked their own shift and you were by yourself.
i.e. 7-3, 3-11, 11-7
I worked nights, 11-7.
I handled everything myself, and if it was a major problem, I called police. But mostly handled my own stuff, and when I got an unruly person I argued with them myself. I truly gave no shat about that job. I threatened someone too because they were being obnoxious and racist to me.
The manager gets called when there is a money decision to make that is over your authorized level.
