If you've ever worked a minimum wage job have you ever noticed that your co-workers are , how do I put this, err not working with a full deck? Yet these are the same people who want to increase the minimum wage. I mean I've seen not-too-bright people in office jobs as well but it seems prevalent in minimum wage workers...maybe they're working there for a reason.

I think that is/ should be the obvious answer. The best and the brightest aren't going to be working for min wage after being in the workforce for any significant amount of time considering 99% of jobs don't pay min wage. I never worked for min wage even in high school.

If we use wages as a gauge for intelligence maybe all pro football, baseball and basketball players are geniuses right? Don't think so. I've met all kinds of people over my lifetime and I'm confounded by educated people that don't use their brains and astonished by dropouts that are street savvy. It just comes to this....we all play the cards that we're given and do the best we can.

Is it safe to assuming you are among this group? er.. since you worked a minimum wage job?

Obviously you don't believe so... the obvious conclusion is that there are people of all walks of life working minimum wage jobs...

I've seen workers with various "issues" working minimum wage all the way up to 6-digits positions.

The same with people making millions of dollars.

I certainly don't think folks like Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson or Tim Tebow would be very successful Jeopardy contestants...

Well of course you see all kinds of nuts because it's a minimum wage job LOL. That was my first job out of college as a telemarketer and yes I had some crazy coworkers.

It is not safe to say that because as I specifically mentioned in my post "having been in the workforce for a significant amount of time." So no, I am not part of that group because I Have 1 never worked for min wage and 2 I only worked for low wages in my teens and eventually moved on to better jobs.

Those a professional athletes who are paid for their physical abilities. they aren't paid to think that much. That should be obvious I would think. I don't think an accountant needs to bench press 300 or be able to run a sprint.

The OP was also only using it as a gauge on the low end of the pay scale. The people the OP worked with obviously weren't professiona athletes. There are a lot of ways to make it rich without being smart, so your point makes no sense.

I'm not saying all just the vast majority. Honestly, its very easy to spot the people who are working thise jobs not by choice.
