Since we each have separate banks accts and he pays for some things, I pay for others, We always put it in our joint ckg acct and it funds home repairs
Typically I reserve at least half of it to pay for my property taxes. The rest could be for anything.
But this year we may actually have to pay due to a retirement that my partner had to cash in early.
I had to cash out 2 of my retirement funds a couple of years ago when I unemployed (I was a 99er). I had to just to survive and I didn't owe anything. We actually got refunds both years.
I had an IRA account and money in a k plan from another employer I worked for. I made sure they took out the penalties when I withdrew both funds.
