Would you agree with those sentiments?

The old saying, the "cream rises to the top" should be replaced "the snakes in suits rise to the top".

Its a great breeding ground for Sociopathic or psychopathic tendencies, but can you be a good person and rise the ranks in corporate america?

It seems the passive, nice, good hearted people are always the ones getting left behind

They sure can.
I know more good people than your so-called snakes.

I disagree. There are just as many, or more, good environments in corporate America as/than there are bad environments. Good companies will hire good people. You will get jobs in the type of company that suits you. If you are in a crappy company, it's time for some retrospective reflection.

I agree.

I don't do business with hacks, liars and cheats and furthermore the people I do business with feel the same way.

Contracts. I've done million dollar jobs on a handshake, nothing signed and I always got my money in a timely manner.

Twice in my life I got shafted out of money and both times I had ironclad AIA signed contracts but those things are only worth the integrity and honor they guy signing them has.

There are far more honest people than dishonest because dishonesty never goes far and works gets out really quick and the dishonest goes bankrupt really quick too.

There does seem to be more sociopaths the higher up in the command structure you go at most companies. It seems more like the turds float to the top. On the worker and first through mid level management tier the big problem seems to be a breakdown of priorities with politics, crony-ism, nepotism, and HR garbage. Place those problems with abusive labor policies like permatemps coming from above and the private sector can be a very miserable place to work especially if you are the type like me who wants to come to work, work hard, do a good job, and stay out of the excrement.

I'm beginning to think there are a group of people who lack the skills and personality to get jobs in decent companies, so they think all companies are like the cesspools of inadequacy that will employ them.

Yes. You should see how the worst of them refer to management as psychopaths/sociopaths. They aren't willing to realize their own deficiencies and improve, so they just talk poorly like a 5th grader about anyone who sees them for who they really are.

Agreed, MPowering1. A sub-prime group of employers for sub-prime employees.

Ding, ding, ding - finally figured it out, kids!

Laughable. And then they claim the psychopaths will always only give them raises of 1 - 5%.

NO, that's what poor performers are given. If that's your history, better look in the mirror.
