I'm talking about a situation where you got along great with your bosses and management, but just did not like the work and found another. How did you handle breaking the news to them, if you liked them? How did they take it?

Yes I know it happens and it's all about your career and all, no big deal, but still, just want to know from those who experienced this.

Every time my boss was happy for me to find to new position and grow. A couple of times I was countered to stay when I gave notice. It's always been pleasant.

They gave me a minor raise and offered me anything else I wanted to stay. They said I could come back at anytime. There was no happiness at all. They were pissed, but they got over it.

Managers leave for more money at other companies, just like anybody else. When they move on to a new company, they recruit their former employees. They have my number and Linkedin profile. If I see their Linkedin profile change, I can contact them directly for job openings at the new company. Sometimes, they contact you.

Nothing to handle, they said good luck, had a little gathering for me the last day I was there, I left, they hired someone else.

Usually not well. That's how I've ended up burning a few bridges.
