All of which require skills, you can hardly start a business as a financial consult when you haven't a clue what the difference between stocks and bonds are.
LOL, No one is going to just "Give / Loan" you money because you have a dream of owning a business. If you had 20 years experience managing a very successful restaurant, you might find youself an investor to open your own business. (they are fronting the cash and you the experience) but short of that, your just another smuck with a dream with no idea how to make it reality.
Some guy on Kickstarter said he wanted to make a potato salad and he raised $55,000.
My husband and I started a landscape biz and did well. Started out with used tools to start and built up clients. Eventually would hire employees. It took very very little to start up. Office and home cleaning also little to start up if you buy used equipment. Im sure here are many others.
Website whether it is blogging, vlogging, social media, podcast, etc. You may not make enough money to not be a side job early on BUT it can take you a good amount of time. Be prepared for the long-game, not the short-game.
I actually want to get in on the Chick-fil-a business in NYC/surrounding areas, but that can be a pricey investment/process as well once we start talking about getting certain licenses and restaurant space, etc. By the way, I think that more people aren't looking into running Chick-fil-a franchises because owners are expected to be very involved in the running of the business to ensure that quality doesn't suffers. Many potential owners simply don't have time to do that when considering their other ventures.
Saw an article in a major newspaper the other day about an 8 year old girl who has had a business for 2 years.
She puts on a baking show with a video, with a new episode every week, teaching other kids how to bake something over the Internet shown on utube I believe it was. Shot with minimum equipment, and kind of amateur but what do you expect from an 8 year old girl. Income from advertising shown on the show.
Sounds not much of a business, but it grosses over $126,000 a week and almost all profit. Talk about a low cost to start business, this is one.
Of course OP this may be too small a business for your dreams, but it shows if you have enough brains you can succeed, even if you start your business when you are 6 years old.
