How to handle job offer when you need more time (interview, jobs)

So here's the situation:

a. I have two companies I interviewed with last week and they are supposed to respond with their decision this week. (Los Angeles and Detroit)

b. On Monday of this week, I interviewed with a company and they offered me the job. This was my least preferred job, but it'll be pretty good. (Milwaukee)

c. On Wednesday of this week, I am scheduled to have an interview on the east coast. This is the position I'm most interested in and it would be my fourth interview with them, so I have a very good chance. (DC)

d. On Monday of next week, I am scheduled to have an interview in the midwest. This is more of an exploratory interview, so things aren't certain. (Cincinnati)


So how should I handle this situation. I have the job offer at b, but that was my last place choice and I have to respond by end of day on Friday. The real question is how to handle c and d. Most likely, I'll still go to c because I'm most interested in that position. But I'm uncertain about what to do when. Any suggestions?

I would respond to b at the last minute possible and take the offer. Then secure a start date 2 weeks from then or later if you can. Once a better offer comes through before your start date for b, you can tell them you changed your mind.

B is not going to wait for you to go through the process with C and D. The best you can do is listed above. How long is B going to give you to make up your mind? In all probability you will have to pass on B if you want to take your chances with C and D. We would give you a max of 48 hours to accept or decline.

You have to rank what job you want. From what you posted C is your first choice. If they make you an offer Wednesday you are set with the job you want.

However, if they don't, accept the job from company B at the last minute, give the company in DC time.

You don't have any other offers yet.

I would accept the job at close of business on Friday. Negotiate a start date of at least 2 weeks. Go to the interview that you really want, and if they make you an offer, let the first company. The company that made you an offer is probably at will and would get rid of you without reservation, so I feel no commitment to any company as they are only so committed to you!

Just give a start date for 2 weeks and then put the pressure on the other jobs to give you a answer since you already have a offer in your pocket. That's what I did when I got the offer I didn't want as much i gave a future start date so I could work on the other jobs I really wanted.
