My BF just got a new warehouse job after not being in that field in years. Unfortunately, he's not in his 20s anymore, in fact, he's barely out of his 30s.
One bad thing is that he's literally on his feet for 8 hrs w/ a 30 min break in between, so when his shift's over, he says his legs feel like rubber. Plus, he works 3pm - 11:30pm...not an easy time frame to get used to.
He wears Skechers sneakers, which he says are comfortable, but I think he needs insoles or a better/more comfy brand of shoe.
Any shoe suggestions? ALSO, any other suggestions on how to keep him from feeling so fatigued & to keep his strength & energy up? Any other suggestions to help him adjust? I want to do all I can to help him.

I found Skechers the least comfortable shoe to wear all day. I had an office job, but went to the warehouse to help out 1-2 days a week as needed. Skechers are fine for running around doing errands, but for standing all day, no way.
New Balance is a great shoe and if you have a NB store near you they can help fit him and pick the best shoe for his job.
Good luck! I came home from work on warehouse days beat to a pulp.
as a IT field tech who walks and sometimes stands up i wear nike air maxes to work or comfy boots
Plenty of sleep and rest and eating well is required to have energy during the day
Decent pair of boots. Sometimes I'm on my feet 12 hours a day. It's much worse for people who are standing still like a cashier than someone walking around.
Its depends really. I use to work construction very year when in collage. I awas in pretty good shape but each summer it took me about two weeks before not hurting all over at end of day. Make sure also he stays hydrated and not to wait until it effects him and he can't catchup. Hydrate before starting. I'd personally go for some good safety shoes and am surprised he's not required to wear them in that type job. Most also support your ankles better and are designed to work in. I'd think some of the ole hands could advise him on shoes.
i like the skecher shoes with air soles, since it creates a little pockets of air so the body weight isn't entirely on ground if he is standing in place
I also like crocks too since they make a slip resistant sole and have air vents so feet isn't so hot. Also the foam is nice and soft too
clogs are good too but more for walking around and not standing in one place
maybe some compression socks too? Haven't used them but I don't stand all day, just wonder if keeping blood from going to ankles would help or not
I stand all day as well. Some shifts are 11-13 hours for me. Insoles like the gel ones help, and even a few quick minutes sitting every now and then help too. I still get achy feet after work sometimes which is inevitable just due to biology, but can still work just fine. I would also suggest if he goes to the gym regularly to keep quads and calf muscles strong. I found this helped me also quite a bit also. No skipping leg day at the gym. I wish him well and hope he adjusts smoothly.
Dr Scholls insoles. I've been using them for years. You really can tell the difference just by the amount of energy you have at the end of the day.
