Just got my 90 day review and it was good feedback. I was really nervous and a bit stressed about it but I had good comments.

Just out of curiosity, why have I never scored the highest rating on attendance? It's always near perfect but not perfect perfect. Is there a reason why employers not give the highest rating? I'm always on time and early ready to work, I take short lunches, I sometimes stay late, etc.

Is it because a highest rating would result in considering a raise for me?

You would have to ask your supervisor what criteria they use to determine the highest rating. I doubt it has anything to do with pay raises.

Our annual raises are based solely on the performance reviews, but attendance is not rated. I have been off sick 3 days in 7 years, it seems like that would be considered good I'd it did affect performance. For us, work beyond the scope of your job description and being pretty much perfect on the actual duties result in the highest ratings and biggest raises.

If you are taking a shorter lunch than you are granted, sometimes that is frowned upon. In some states, it's illegal not to take a "full lunch".

Just a thought to chew on. Ha!

Probably because getting 100% means there's no room for improvement. Unless you literally live at the office, I suppose there is always room for improvement.

Companies like this is why I no longer care if I come in late our leave early and never stay late. You do all of that and you still don't get the marking that you deserve. You would have been just as well off just being an average employee with average attendance and normal length lunches.

How much work do you miss? Everyone has a different idea of what a lot is. I would think you would need perfect attendance for at least a few 90 day periods to get the highest rating.

What makes you think I've missed work? I haven't. The only days I missed was told in advanced for 2 days for my wisdom teeth removal before I even got the job. Lol which they said they would be fine with...

You're evaluated on attendance? By that I mean it's basically binary -- you're there on time or you're not. Not sure how that can be meaningfully subjective.
