If you gotten written up already for not doing your job correctly, I would not ask your manager if you can move up. Either quit or get good at your job first.

is it too bad that you cannot wait until you find another job? is there something really annoying at work other than greeting people?

The first problem it seems is that you thought your job was simply to greet people, but in fact there is some responsibility having to do with checking receipts. It's hard to move up until you have learned and been successful at the current position. learn from your mistakes and don't make them again.

i know i learn from my mistakes. I dont understand why i am in the position I’m in. i dont want to complain cause I need this job for money. If i keep moving around, it doesn’t look good in a job application.
