I don't think nepotism should be illegal, but I think it can often have negative effects on a business and company morale.

It goes both ways. I work for a very big company and we have a lot of 2nd and 3rd generation employees where I work as well as spouses, siblings etc.

I would say 9/10 of the people I know that maybe got hired because of family connections are great employees and coworkers. i think most people's pride makes them want to be great at their job so people aren't saying they only got their job because of who they know and they feel like they have to live up to legacy of their family members that work or worked here. And no I'm not a case of nepotism as I didn't know anyone here when I got hired.

Why a new thread on the same topic?
There are already several threads on this forum and I doubt answers will change.

I think it should be considered mismanagement and possibly theft unless done by the owner of a privately held company.
