Okay. After weeks of therapy (and still undergoing therapy) I was diagnosed with "borderline" IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder). IED is a condition in which you would "erupt" when you feel the small slights gnaw at you, or you feel that you're questioned and/or challenged, even though the inquiries could be innocent questions.
I put this in the Work and Employment forum 'cause most of youse know my past stories of outbursts I've had at work. I'm being honest: I've come close once or twice to yelling, but have also come to the realization that yelling does NOT help.
Shrink says that it's believed to be tied to my childhood. I did a lot of yelling when I was a kid. Got my ass whooped by my dad a couple times for yelling, but that's another story.
Now, I just take a walk. I feel bad, 'cause I might have lost a lot of people's trust.
Almost had a relapse when dealing with a very difficult person last week. I just walk away, and forget about the matter.
