Op, even though I get the feeling you are trolling, you need to learn how to play the interviews game.

You are there to sell yourself. Only say what is needed to get the job. Never say you werer fired or let go. Never.

I love how someone with 7 posts accuses me of being a troll.

That said, since telling a prospective employer I was let go will cost me the job, should I stop filling out the new hire paperwork and let them know I won't accept the position? I mean, since I didn't play the game right, and I need to learn...I should start over, right?

Cheers.
Most people did not tell you to lie, they simply told you to leave a 12 day employment off of your resume. Again, why would you even create such a post, then, if your plans were NOT to leave it off and tell them the truth? Can you answer that???? We already know why, so you could create this second post to come back and tell everyone how wrong they were and how fantastic of a person you are for having told them the truth.

The whole "They'll find out 10 years down the road" is beyond laughable. Unless you are a politician or applying to the FBI and taking a polygraph test, why in the world would a company pay for background checks on long-term employees who have been with the company for 10+ years? Do you have any clue how much that would cost a firm? And let's say they did (LOL!), you really think a company would care enough to fire a good/solid employee for leaving off a 12 day employment off of their resume? The whole premise is ridiculous, as is this post.

BTW, I'm not jealous of someone who was fired after 12 days who now chooses to willingly tell the world about it. Not sure I get that logic. Um, congrats??

Its also good to note that employers will low ball your salary when you are unemployed or desperate in any way. It is possible you cost yourself some money.

For the love of all that is good and holy, as I have said, about 1,000,000,000 times, it WAS NOT ABOUT THE DARN JOB BEING ON MY BLOODY RESUME. Do you READ before you reply? (No, you don't.)

You get facts wrong, make assumptions, and then become abusive toward posters because you don't like what they said. Which is ironic as you get the info wrong, but base your statements on this incorrect info.

I am glad you aren't jealous. And, the fact that you needed to take your time to tell me this info? Yeah, still trying to figure out the motivation there.

Well, the job is about 15% more than the previous, and above the median for the role and position/area. So, while I may have gotten a lower amount, I am ok with it.

And, they did not know my previous salary, as this isn't something you can ask in CA.

Unfortunately people do not read posts on here. Many times just the title line and skim the rest. It can be frustrating.

This response is impressive to me for the simple fact that I feel you wanted to use expletives SO bad, but you showed restraint. I, myself, would have added a few choice words with asterisks. I aspire to this level of discipline.

You are correct. I really, REALLY wanted to. Thanks for noticing the restraint.
