I am having that feeling about this new corrections position I dont even start until 3 weeks from now,but in my case it is because other nurses put it into my head that working in correctional nursing is very bad.
Did someone who works there or used to work there put bad ideas into your head?
That you won't last long in your new job? The reason why i ask is that i feel so out of place there. I am probably the oldest person thats non management and im only 32. The place is unreasonably loud. We have this parrot that makes noises every few minutes....and theyre ear drum piercing noises. Im going to give it more time but i have this deep sinking feeling that i wont have this new job for long. We're in a call center setting but im dealing with their accounting.
Why would you want to work in a call center anyway? I did that. Never again. Most people who do the call center thing feel the same way. Run away, OP. Run far, far away.

To be fair and honest, i didnt do my research. I wanted a new job because i was moving to a new state...so i was desperarate. But they also said it was an accounting job so i didnt hesitate. Btw, two co-workers told me that they have a very high turnover rate. Hell, i dont even know if they ran a background check on me...
Now that i got my foot in the door, i could look for other jobs. But would it look bad if i apply for a new job only 2 weeks into my current job? I have money in the bank to hold me over for a long time but would it look bad on my resume?
DON'T say you been working there at all especially for only two weeks. However, you don't have to quit this job before getting a new one.
If you relocated to a new state, use that as the reason why you are looking for a new job. Just say it took you a few weeks to start looking for a job in your new state. Moving is a big project. No one would doubt you taking a month off.
I mentioned this in another thread but now it REALLY can help you.
If you work in accounting this is right up your alley. You said you have funds to last. Quit the parrot job NOW and setup your own consultancy. Do you have your CPA? If not get it. People need help analyzing their 2018 personal and corporate tax obligation under the new Trump tax laws. My accountant is busier than ever. Business is booming for him. Get out and do your own thing until you can get your next gig. Every accountant should know how to setup a corporation as a pass through entity.
Yes, and unfortunately for me, I'm a glutton for punishment and hung on until I got fired when I should've quit and saved a lot of mental anguish over being fired.

Know one lady at my church who was prison nurse for 15 years. Murderers, Rapists, Molesters. She treated them all with courtesy and respect. She said once "They were the worst people ever to walk the earth, but I wanted to show them they could change"
I didn't ask her if any did. I was more impressed she'd never gotten stabbed....
i have had that feeling from day one, its been 34 years, I could go at any day
Please don’t make any hasty decisions.
