For the worst plan too and now a $7,500 deductible. It’s insane how if you are self-employed and don’t qualify for subsidies you are probably looking at a middle aged or older person spending 10-20% of their budget on insurance.

Mine didn’t change at all after Obamacare, but it goes up every year as I age as do all of them. I am one of those self employed and I pay close to $700 a month with s $3000 deductible at 56. By the tine I’m 60 it’ll be over $1000 for the same plan (purchased through Blue Cross, not the Marketplace).
Thank God though the health care bill they tried to pass last year didn’t pass, cause that allowed insurers to charge those over 50 five times more vs the three times more currently allowed. I’d not have insurance in that case. Even now I don’t know how I’m going to pay for insurance till I’m 65, it’ll be $2000 a month by that time, and they will probably raise Medicare age by then in any case to pay for this tax bill gift to the billionaires.
It is a mess. Medicare buy for all in seems the best way, but it’s not going to happen anytime soon.
