Is there an accepted definition or understanding of "days of employment" in a job agreement (outside of union jobs, formally contracted positions, etc.)?

That is, if a job letter specifies "30 days of employment" or evaluation after 30 or 90 days... are those calendar days, or work days? Is "30 days of employment" a calendar month, or six workweeks?

(Yes, I could ask, but it doesn't really matter one way or the other and I'm already dealing with enough ambiguity in the job and role... )

It depends on the company. I was under a "Calendar 90 day probation" that included weekends, worked or not.

Every time I have seen anything in multiples of 30, it refers to calendar days.

Typically if they mean working days, they will define it as such.

Normally, I'd agree. However, this company has been just... quirky enough that I wouldn't be surprised to find out I've only had ten days of employment, not 14.

There's a trigger that happens on "Day 31" and I suspect it will actually be day 43 or so.

Thanks.
