NJ About to file Unemployment (interview, payment, unemployed, employer)

I’m about to file my first claim with NJ unemployment after5+ years at my most recent job.
I’m 50+, I’ve consistently worked since 18.
I did not quit. I worked until my last day.

1. Any advice on completing claim for a successful approval?

2. After I file then what am I required to do:
A. Before my claim is approved?
B. After my claim is approved?

Unemployment is about the reason you lost your last job. The qualifying period is the last 18 months so all work prior to 18 months means squat to unemployment. What you do is based on why you are no longer working for your employer. So, what state and why are you unemployed.

File it asap and do it with truthful answers.
The state tries to get it done in 30 days or much sooner if your employer confirms reason.
if your employer plays games you will have an interview with claims examiner and that will get the determination part done.
if you worked 5 years full time you will qualify from a financial perspective.

Since you did not get a "Reassurance Notice" you are eligible for unemployment providing there was no gross misconduct involved. DO NOT, provide any information about anything that may have been a factor in not being reappointed, that is the sole job of your previous employer. Historically, they seldom if ever provide any reason which means you get unemployment by default for not being reappointed, but if you say anything and give the state a reason to question your benefit payment, it can take awhile before you see anything if you see anything. So name , rank, serial number only at this stage.
