I'm pretty good at wearing a fake smile when I'm being dealing with BS from someone at work and not letting on that I really think that person is an $&@hole or an idiot.
On nearly a daily basis, I find myself thinking "go $&@* yourself buddy" or "shut up please!" but yet the words that come out of my mouth are politically correct and I continue smiling. It just makes the day run smoother, plus there's the thing where I have to get along with people to avoid getting fired.
This takes a large amount of emotional energy and it gets on my nerves. I also find the push from management for us to all pretend that we are a "family" (yes, they have actually referred to us as a "family" in meetings), and for us to pretend that we really get a thrill out of doing our jobs and enjoy the forced camaraderie rather irritating.
It's all so fake, and I find myself both frustrated with it and laughing at it at times, but I guess that's what they pay us for. What's the point though? Can't we just do our jobs and skip the BS?
A good way to get fired is to say whatever is on your mind. I agree with Ruth4Truth, maybe you should find a different job. Remember, you are paid to do a job, not complain about co-workers. Try to be like a duck and let stuff roll off your back.

So scream at them and get fired.
I'm find with that plan.
I'll read your post when I return from work that day.
One of the big advantages of working from home is that after I get off the phone with some idiot, I can hang up the phone after I say "Have a great day!" and end it with *click*....."you effing mouthbreather!" Childish, yes, but I feel better.
Doesn't sound high strung or stressed to me. Just tired of the stupid companies who want employees to feel 'engaged' because they feel it increases loyalty and productivity. The same companies who think that giving praise is the equivalent of giving a raise, or who think that shouting out a greeting as customers enter their business is the way to earn the goodwill of said customers. It's a line of BS they hope schmucks fall for.
On a daily basis. Though most of the time it isn't something like "go $&@* yourself buddy" but simple, real, technical and financial truth that they need to hear. What echoes in my head mostly is "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" I'm pretty outspoken as it is, but there comes a point where some in senior leadership have their heads so far up their own butts they need a periscope to see daylight. And in these cases I'm not talking about intentionally mean or vindictive jerks, but people who treat employees decently but are so clueless you wonder how they got there.
They make arbitrary decisions about cost and schedule that have no basis behind it, and then get upset when reality intrudes. It's like living in a Dilbert cartoon.
