You want an amazing excuse for being late? Try horses on the bridge. Yes, you read that right.
This is the story..

By the way, once you get onto the bridge itself, there's no more exits and no way to get off. Also to note, five mile backup means about an hour of delay... and the only other way to get across the water would have only added an extra 3 hours or so.
