There are government jobs all over the country that require clearances. This is a totally false statement. I've never worked in DC, but have worked in positions that were connected to government and have required several clearances, many of these with private companies that contracted for the federal government.

This is not true. There are lots of Defense Contractors in other states, and their jobs require being cleared.

No, I work in California and I had to have an extensive background check done to get the job I have now.
