Commit a crime where you'll end up in a cushier Federal prison. There, you'll receive an solid, life-enduring education where you'll never have to worry about your credit scores ever again, or even have to leave a hefty detainer with a top-notch criminal attorney.

In lieu of that, read evey true crime book every written. True crime books only feature the idiots who got caught. Be the star performer that will never be featured in a true crime book.

Go for it!

Don't take stupid college classes that aren't needed for your major. Pick out your future not, the advisers. Look at the job market all the time, see what job is needed. Know a lot of people on top. It's not always what you know, it's whom you know.

Try to narrow your interest to a growth field. Look into respected programs at cheaper state schools and be done in four years. Don't waste any summers, try to get internships especially at companies you may consider starting a career at.

Don't vote. 2008 was historic for youth voting and look at what it brought us.

Don't go to college. It's a waste of time and money. Make friends with people who can give you a job. It's all about who you know.

That the economic cycle is cyclical. As bad as things look now (as they did in the early 80's when I was their age), there will be a period of recovery, then some boon times and then a dip again. Plan and save accordingly. But know that it will always be changing.

My Green card Mexican roommate, with his mere 6 years of education, who has navigated through 30+ years here, recessions and all, will always be a wonder to me.

But then again, my mother with 8 years of education and my father with 6 years of education, who waltzed through every recession, still amaze me after their deaths.

Seriously, I'm rather clueless as to what sound advice to give to a graduating senior today, with the exception that being bilingual will be of help, no matter what field you go into today.
