NYC. Everything I am into is happening there, dense. You can live in a reasonably affordable area and still be within biking distance of downtown. Tons of different type of people. Obvious negatives being crime, bed bugs and rodents, not enough green space.
Tokyo #2. Like NYC, but far cleaner, safer. Negatives being that it's a bit boring after a while, expensive if you want to go out and do anything social, language/cultural barrier, not the center of new music and film, though a few very important artists have come from there, or at least Japan. I actually prefer Osaka because the people are much friendlier from my experience, while it's very similar to Tokyo.
Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul, and Los Angeles area would all be nice to live in. I'd choose Shanghai because it seems most dynamic right now. It also has a lower crime rate than other cities in less developed countries.
I would not live in India or Indonesia, because they are so poor and underdeveloped. I prefer more developed places, where clean water, trash collection, and disease prevention are common.
That's hard.
Tokyo, NYC, and Shanghai would be the top 3 though.
