The U.S.'s best friend I'd say is definitely the U.K. Although these 2 countries are very different from one another and are separated by an ocean, they share the same underlying heritage and culture and have been long-term allies.
I kind of agree though I often feel the US is the kind of ally that will ditch you in the first sign of trouble and will kiss the rear end of who ever is gaining influence (China).

I think Norway is a very strong ally for the UK.
I can't imagine the u.s. ever ditching the u.k. though. It's a little excessively loyal to some places like Israel.
I don't see any possibility of u.s. fully supporting china for anything. In the region, Taiwan,Japan and South Korea are heavily in the front seat. China always strikes me as one the U.S. has never been all that comfortable with.

China? Man, that is a clearly a case of "keep your friends close and keep your enemies even closer." The U.S. is actually threatened by China (its government particularly) and most likely believes China has the potential to become another U.S.S.R.
Sorry, but Americans don't like communists or communist countries, no matter how you look at it.

I think the USA’s best friends are equally
1. Canada
2. England/UK
3. France
4. Japan
5. Sweden
These countries below in this category are more mixed. They seem to also be the USA’s best friends equally as the ones above but in a few ways not as much. But I would say it is still much more positive than negative:
6. China
7. India
8. Italy
9. Germany
Yes, I think the USA has like 9 best friends at the same time.

The US needs to be close with China because their economies are joined at the hip. They are virtually dependent on one another.

It is posturing due to practical necessity in a changing world. There are of course lots of great qualities about the Chinese people. No doubt about that. But the Chinese government, its autocratic political system and its history of human rights abuses towards its own people are not things that Americans view positively at all.

Most Americans don't care about their government's foreign policy with the exception of Iraq, Afghanistan, and a few other countries. I would say the country's inhabitants that we hold in the highest opinion would be those of Australia.
US, UK, Australia, NZ, Canada are all pretty good friends.
France, Germany are quite close, borderline sexual if u ask me.
Iran and???? Uhhhhh I dont know
China and N. Korea are pretty good friends, but China is like the hot friend that keeps the ugly friend (N. Korea) around to make themselves look better.
Finland and Swden are like brother and sister.
Italy and.... Greece? I dunno about those 2
India and nepal seem to be quite chummy, with Pakistan being that a-hole no one really trusts or likes because they steal and smell
