Not only Africa has indigenous black people.

The islands of "Melanesia" in the Pacific Ocean, also have indigenous black people, specially Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.

Some videos from YouTube:

School students in Papua New Guinea

Indigenous tribes from Solomon Islands

Pan Pipers from Santa Isabel, Solomon Islands

The most interesting part is that they are not related to Africans.

The "Melanesian" people live in those islands since dozens of thousands of years ago.

I imagine if a couple of immigrants from Papua New Guinea went to the USA, and had a son there who was an American citizen...

Would the kid be "classified" as "African American"?

Probably yes, even when the kid would have no relation at all with Africa...

Melanesian people are NOT recent descendants of Africans. 12 thousand years ago, they were already living in those Pacific Ocean islands...

Actually, Melanesians from Papua New Guinea would be classified as "Pacific Islanders" in the United States. In general, a person of "Polynesian, Micronesian, or Melanesian" descent is officially considered to be "Pacific Islander" in the United States, regardless of their skin color or hair texture. Here's a link to a report on "Pacific Islanders" by the U.S. Census Bureau...

All homo sapiens are descendants of Africans. The ancestors of the Australian aborigines, the Aeta of the Philippines, the Mani of Thailand, the Orang Asli of Malaysia, and several other indigenous groups in Asia and Oceania are also not recent descendants of Africans, despite their phenotypes.

Here are some "YouTube" videos...

Interestingly, there are some Melanesians who have natural blonde hair, together with a black skin...

Our species is really very diverse...

Well dark-skinned people live all over the world, from Oceania, Australia, Southeast Asia, southern India, the Americas and Africa. Of course just being dark-skinned doesn't make them any more related to each other. Full-blooded aborigines in some desert areas also can have blonde hair.

Exactly...

Homo sapiens is a very diverse species that can't be "classified" in just "three races".

A trip to Melanesia or Central Asia would pretty much fix anyone's preconceived notions of race.
