I don't think most Americans know their blood type. However, I've noticed a lot of people from other countries do. Why is that? In America, you really have no reason to know your blood type (except for certain circumstances like when you need a blood transfusion or if you're pregnant). Please note which country you are from.

I'm Australian and still don't know my blood type, though I've had tests done. I might donate blood, so I'd probably find out then, and also if I ever needed a blood transfusion that would of course be important.

I'm American and know my bloodtype but I'm rare.

My wife, who is Japanese, knows her blood type and they consider it key in matchmaking. So nearly all Japanese know their blood type.

I have heard about the match-making aspect. How does that work? What are they looking for? Is it medical (like not wanting a + with a - ) ?

They also use it in hiring, oddly enough. A job ad will specify the blood type that applicants must have.

No, it's like horoscopes, like an Aries shouldn't date a Virgo, but should go for an Aquarius etc. (no idea if that's true btw).

I'm Canadian and have known my blood type since my mother told me when I was young. A+

No I don't and I really don't care.
Plus talking about blood makes me quiver.

I wonder if a vampires would be able to tell your blood type just by taste? Kind of like how wine experts can tell a lot about a wine just by tasting it. That would make a good skit lol.
