Another city worth mentioning: Brussels. Majority of the population is of "foreign" origin and it has the European nationalities and large numbers from Turkey, Morocco and Subsaharan Africa.

I think the ethnic groups you will find in greater numbers in London are from the nations of the former British Empire ... places like Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Barbados, Zambia, Zimbabwe, etc.

In New York there are greater numbers of Latin Americans, East Asians, and Southeast Asians.

Both are exceptionally diverse cities. Of course throughout the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries New York was the port of entrance for tens of millions of immigrants from nearly every country in the world.

Full Fact is the UK's only independent factchecking organisation. Here's what they found when comparing London, NY, Toronto, and Sydney - presumably without the homerism displayed by the Canadian's on this thread.

Is London the "most diverse city" in the world?

It's not JUST about the proportion of whites vs. nonwhites or "balance" between White/Black/Asian/Latino - otherwise Oakland would be as "diverse" as NYC!

I know, I am more like a Black Briton than a white Serbian! Diversity is about diversity of cultures.

None of the four in the title are anywhere near diverse, by any global standard. For example, the mainstream media in all four of them is in English, solidly in the camp of Western culture, with a few fringe publications or cable channels in another language. Skin color alone does not make "diversity". All four of them are hard-boiled bastions of English language and western cultural thought.
