It depends on where you're from. If you're from Europe, traveling to only six countries after 23 years is pathetic since there are so many countries close to one another. If you're from the U.S. or Canada, however, it's not so bad at your age. I didn't start traveling internationally (outside of Canada) until I graduated from college. I know many people in their 20s and 30s who have never traveled outside North America. I would say you are average by U.S. standards. Probably above-average in terms of how well-traveled you are internationally. I would be more embarrassed if I were a virgin at that age.

Don't be - you want to do all travel above 21 years of age anyways

This way you can have alcohol legally

Also as a kid you wouldn't remember much about the trip

Why is it pathetic?

Are they pathetic?

Only the US has 21 as the legal drinking age, it's much lower almost everywhere else in the world where alcohol is legal.

I concur with Big Swede. It's not pathetic at all, I would rather say most Europeans at that age (and really later too) have not travelled more, 6 countries might even be above average.

By age 23, I'd only been to two. But by age 24, I'd been to all 48 states in the USA. I didn't get to six countries until I was 25.

It depends on where you're starting out from. Kids in Belgium can ride their bikes to five countries on a weekend.
