I think for Asians, can be NO for all the western cities.
You can have western food in any city.
Asian food in western cities are not for Asians originally from Asia in my experience.
I could live in many of these cities quite happily with the exception of the asian cities , some american cities like DC, LA and SF and I don't want to live in Australia. Vienna and Paris are probably tops for me though.

Methodology for what makes a Global City is quite superficial. An important node in the Global economic system is sometimes the only qualification to determine how they order cities in a pretentious index.
I highlighted in bold all of those cities I am open to living in for a substantial amount of time: Paris France, London UK, New York City USA, Tokyo Japan, Hong Kong China, Los Angeles USA, Chicago, Seoul South Korea, Brussels Belgium, Washington DC, Singapore, Sydney Australia, Vienna Austria, Beijing China, Boston USA, Toronto Canada, San Francisco California USA, Madrid Spain, Moscow Russia, Berlin Germany, Shanghai China, Buenos Aires Argentina, Frankfurt Germany, Barcelona Spain, Zurich Switzerland.
As far as living in these cities, I voted for, and in no particular order:
- New York: because it's New York, although I probably couldn't handle it for more than a year.
- Hong Kong: to partake in a city that has arisen from slum to glisten in less than 100 years.
- Washington: great city, although with some real jerks, and great location to some of the East Coast's best offerings.
- Los Angeles: I live near this city now full-time, soooooo...
- Singapore: same as with Hong Kong, although I don't know how long I could take the hyper-strictness.
- Toronto: probably the most underrated of the 25 cities indicated. Crappy winters unfortunately.
- San Francisco: NOT to live the city proper, however cool it is, but still live in the Bay Area/Silicon Valley. Great place.
- Frankfurt: the only major European city listed that speaks to me as a place I might want to live full-time.
- Chicago: great city, but crappy winters.
- Buenos Aires: just because this place seems really cool actually and it is emerging as one of the few "first world" cities in Latin America.
I meant to vote for Tokyo and Shanghai, too. I don't know what I was thinking. In fact, if I had to pick one city on this list of 25 to live in for even six months, it would easily be Tokyo.
I was surprised to not see Vancouver and Santiago listed, but I guess 25 had to be 25. Vancouver is absolutely amazing, and I've been dying to check Santiago (and Chile) for years; I think Santiago is, like BA, emerging as a "first world" center of commerce and industry in Latin America..
Buenos Aires; because it looks great and I understand it's a work-to-live kind of city, which suits me just fine.
Madrid and Barcelona: Loved to visit both, so would love to live there for a couple of years
London: I didn't like it much when I last visited in the early 90s, but from what I'm reading about it on CD and other places, it seems to be a really fun place now.
Paris: I just loved everything about it, so I'd stay a few years at least.
Sydney: love the location and the weather.
I've had enough of freezing weather in Toronto, so no more of that for me. So no Chicago or Boston. LA-meh. If it weren't for the lousy weather, I'd love to live in Montreal once again for a few years. Maybe only in the spring and summer months then down south during the howling winters (brrr- Montreal's winters are uniquely bone-chillingly cold).
Sydney, Vienna, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Berlin
