it doesn't seem that way; emigration from the U.S. to Western Europe seems rather difficult. I know I've been "looking into it" for a few years now, and my impression is that western european countries are far more accomodating to muslims, somalis, eastern europeans, turks, etc., than americans.
Is this post fairly accurate regarding the difficulty (for Americans) to emigrate to Western Europe these days .
The UK in particular would strike me as more welcoming to American immigrants due to the connection and shared language between countries.
But it is interesting that the "problem" tourists are largely European. Tourists from China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore or North America don't seem to be as "casual" about visa requirements.
Interesting but not surprising. Tourists from non-Western countries are used to applying for visas and aware of the consequences of not following the rules. Folks in first world countries should be grateful every day for being born into relative privilege.
Probably a country like the Bahamas, COsta Rica, Panama, or parts of Mexico that get lots of rich retirees who have lots of American dollars to pump into the local economy.
Mexico is actually the foreign country with the most American citizens living there and while some of them are the US born children of deported illegal aliens, many are gringos who have retired to the popular resort areas.
People let me be blunt, if you are a liberal American equal to the Conservatives of the UK,Australia, NZ you will be fine.
If you are a raving US conservative you can forget about getting a warm welcome in any Western first world country.
The only time you're treated nicer than they'd treat others is if they want something for you. Also, in general rarely are you treated poorly unless you're doing something rude in the first place.
People are generally the same everywhere you go. If you respect them, they will respect you. If you disrespect them, they will disrespect you. There's no place in the world that just love Americans (or Europeans/Australians) so much that they have an infatuation with them and just want to be around you. No, they want your money.

Why? I don't see any reason for politics to be discussed while travelling. Of all the Europeans I met while travelling, we never discussed politics and they never asked me about my views on how the government should spend their money.
