One thing I hate in Brazil is the climate - especially the summers in São Paulo.
It's hot as in the hell and there is a lot of violent thunderstorms; streets often get flooded and the landscape looks somewhat similar to Venice. Hard damages in houses and cars are not uncommon.

I'd still live in Brazil. Provided that I made enough money to get out of the country every 1-2 years for vacation, and lived in a neighborhood I could afford that isn't plagued with house burglurs

First of all I must say: real estate pricing in Brazil is extremely expensive, even for international standards.
Probably the best places for living in Brazil, for those who have enough money, are the inner southwestern suburbs of São Paulo and the Alphaville Area, in the nearby city of Barueri. These areas are full of green spaces, comfortable houses and mansions, and the most important CDBs of the city are in the nearby. Curitiba would be also a good choice because of the good urban planning, beautiful parks and mild climate - however, most of the largest companies, and which pay the best wages, are in São Paulo and Rio.

For those who don't care about extreme heat, the borough of Barra da Tijuca in Rio and the coastal neighbourhoods in Santos would be also very good choices.

I'm using examples of a typical medium city of my state. The examples can be very different in large cities and other states of the country.
