Socially or politically?

Allies: this thread makes me realize that I have no idea. Probably Mediterranean countries.
Enemies: the same... some years ago it was France for Sport reasons lol... but just TV jokes. Honestly I don't know.

For the US
Allies:

In Europe:
It's Britain, I don't trust the rest of the EU...they don't even like each other and certainly not the US. An example: Many Germans are upset because we have troops in there country.

Middle East: Israel

In Asia:
Japan

Enemies:Russia. To a lesser extent: Iran and China.

Russia is becoming very powerful and Obama does not do anything to stop Putin.

Even if he wanted to do something, the congress would not approve anything. I do not know what is going to happen in the future. Right now we are a point where Putin takes planes down at his will and NATO looks the other way.

The allies:
The U.S. for better or worse. To a lesser extent; Canada, Japan, Spain. To a much lesser extent; the EU, Cuba and Central America.

The enemies:
The U.S. for better or worse. China -our major competitor for the U.S. market. And to a lesser extent; Central America, mostly due to issues regarding our communities in the U.S.

The weird family members; South America. Mexico has been a Mecca to refuges for decades, yet the first moment swine there's a swine flu outbreak, what do they do? Shut their airports to Mexicans. Lol

I'm assuming you mean more militarily than trade?

New Zealand, United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, United Kingdom, EU to a lesser extent.

Enemies? I suppose by proxy of our military alliance with the US, a lot of countries that hate the US.

China is a very important trade partner, yet I don't know if we're really allies...

UK allies: US, France, Australia, Germany (especially in recent years), Canada. Sometimes Sweden and Denmark since they occasionally side with us on EU matters, and the Netherlands too, but they're kind of off the radar for most people.

UK enemies: Russia. Probably the worst relations of any country, long before Russian intervention in Ukraine and MH17. Argentina. Love-Hate with China - leaders there seem to hold us in contempt, but they're more than willing to invest heavily in our infrastructure.

Nations do not have permanent allies, just permanent self-interest.
