Cities like Mogadishu, Aleppo, Idlib, Raqqa, Tikrit, Mosul, Juba, Donetsk, Mariupol, Benghazi and Brazzaville are more than likely the most dangerous. War zones? Of course. But so is Mexico in a state of war by all but name.
And plus the cities I mentioned above are probably note dangerous for your average person. Drug dealer in Caracus? You have a short life expectancy I am afraid. Anyone in Raqqa? In immediate danger.
I agree, the US deserves way more credit. East St. Louis, Flint, Camden, Oakland, LA, Chicago, Philly deserve to be on the list.
Chicago's, Philadelphia's, and especially LA's murder rates are lower than every city on the list, especially their American counterparts, but yes, by all means do tell us about the super dangerous American cities that should have made the cut
then don't go, stay in Dark-land I mean depress-land, I mean finland! they don't need you to visit
Well, or people from 1st world countries will just spend there tourist dollars in other Latin American countries that are more welcoming and less judgemental/stereotypical about other places..

LA and Oakland have bad areas, much like Paris or Amsterdam do. I lived in both cities and maintain friendships and relationships with many people in both cities, and can tell you quite concisely that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking, as usual.

If you look at the whole metro they may not seem so bad. But the cities themselves are very dangerous with very high violent crime rates: 'Chicago: the murder capital of America'

407 people were killed in the city of Chicago in 2014. Chicago proper has 2,719,000 people. That puts Chicago's rate at right under 15 per 100,000 people, lower than every single city on that list, in addition many other large American cities. Chicago is only the "murder capital" for its overall number, and that's because Chicago is vastly larger than cities like Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta, Kansas City, etc. You're less likely to get murdered in Chicago though.

Well, that's good news. I already feel much safer now.
