Buenos Aires is missing there.
Seven teams from Buenos Aires have won Copa Libertadores (Independiente, Boca Juniors, River Plate, Racing Club, Argentinos Juniors, Vélez Sarsfield and San Lorenzo). SEVEN freaking teams!!!

The amount of Copa Libertadores titles won by teams from Buenos Aires surpasses the whole of Brazil (20 vs 17). Five out of those seven teams have also won Intercontinental Cup; next cities with most teams have only two.

Brazilians teams did not play the Libertadores in early years because you Argentineans and Uruguayans beat too much.
For example Santos of Pele played Libertadores only the 3 first editions (won 2) in his 15 years of hegemony. If Santos of Pele in his epoch won of any European team and other great teams of the past like Botafogo of Garrincha, Cruzeiro ... You only have this numbers because Brazilian teams started to exite for Libertadores in 80 years

The participation of Brazil is also more diluted among São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Belo Horizonte. All the four can be considered world's capitals of football, without much prevalence of one of them.

London, Madrid, and Buenos Aires.

I think London is still the top football city in the world, but Madrid and Buenos Aires are right on its heals.

I think many more cities and countries can be counted as powerhouses aside from Spain, England, Argentina and Brazil. Also powerhouses come and go and have their ups and downs.

The absence of any Italian team/city would make zero sense, honestly.

EVERYONE likes football here. Everyone as in, 99% of the population. That's insane.

It's been a long time since that. London is no football capital
London has 13 Premier League teams, including the reigning champions. There isn't another city in the world with so many top-level teams. Also, it's possibly the only city in the world that has the infrastructure to host an entire World Cup tournament.
