Terrorist threats aren't the only thing to consider though. You mentioned Portugal. Portugal's King can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, overriding any laws or their constitution. They're also in drought (again) and the number of forest fires there keeps increasing. They're broke, interest rates are extremely high and they're a drain on the EU, which is about to collapse themselves.

Europe is gone. They just don't know it yet. Russia is run by an egotistical communist dictator whose without jobs or freedoms. The list goes on. Name a country you think is doing great?! Evidence will prove otherwise.

Make the best of where you are now and hold on tight. It's only going to get worse. And this coming from someone who is not a pessimist. Just looking at facts. Think the world is in dire straights? Buckle up. You haven't seen anything yet. These, right now, are the "good old days" compared to what's quite literally just around the corner.
1. Portugal does not have a King since 1910.
2. The head of state cannot do whatever he/she want. In fact the President is mostly a symbolical position.
3. Forest Fires are decreasing. They're only noticable in Summer (the only season where there is constant sun and heat). Forest fires are not going to happen when it is windy, rainy and cold. Duh.
4. The economy is better now than it was 5 years ago
5. The EU is not collapsing any time soon.
6.Lol. Your name should apply to your intellgence (or lack of it).

You're correct. I misread my source as I researched Portugal:

Quote:
In Portugal the President has almost King like power as he can override almost anything the government does and even the constitution. The only difference between the President and a King is that he can hold office for only 8 years. The actual government is run by the Prime Minister and elected by the people every four years.

The information is still true, though. Thanks for pointing out my error. I do appreciate it.

Lol. That source is way outdated (statistics from 2003) and it has a bunch of false information/ right-wing/ redneck infos and opinions.
I strongly advice NOT to read it if you want to know more about Portugal. Although it is kinda of funny!

Especially since Portugal has one of the strongest economic growth in the eurozone with unemployment divided by 2. And the projections for the future are very encouraging.

In the French press we speak of "Portuguese miracle".

No, you just got trapped because you are reading stuffs you barely understand without even searching more deeply in parallel with other sources to have a =/= POVs. You ignore everything about how the democracy works in Portugal else you would never "make a mistake while quoting this source". As you ignore everything about the economical state of Portugal because you didn't even search, just repeat like a parrot this pathetic website that just suits your "way of believing", so it must be true by any mean. Your website is ridiculous and this article written by an ultra catho that can write this peacefully is ridiculous too:

"In a country were 95% of the people are Catholic, look who is president -

Jorge Sampaio, whose party, PS,, is pro abortion, and pro homosexual. People murmur that he disposed of Prime Minister Lopes, to please his Liberal party, and supports his party's candidate, Jose Socrates for Prime Minister.

In a country were 95% of the people are Catholic, look who they have to pick from to run the government -

Jose Socrates- this man belongs to PS( left), a man who changes of mind easily according to his own interests. He is known of having sexual affairs with men. PS is pro Abortion and pro homosexual even if it is quietly.

Jeronimo de Sousa- (PCP) This is an old fashioned communist. His partners want a government in the same fashion as the old Russia. They even say that Cuba, North Korea and China are democracies They want abortion as the African children want food. They are atheist. (I like the "being atheist" in bold after this, a perl )

Francisco Louça- belongs to Bloco de Esquerda and is a most cynical man. His answers are cruel and cold. He has insulted Catholics, as childish people who should never be against abortion. His party wants to make abortion, drugs and prostitution legal as it is in Holland. They hate all Catholics and the Pope and make no doubt about it.

Santana Lopes- (PSD) This man was the actual Prime Minister, but no one let him do his job. The Left convinced President Jorge Sampaio to fire him for no strong reason. He was known for being a womanizer in the past, but now he seems different . He has five children and he is against abortion, drugs and homosexuals. He is a charming person, never gets angry."

Now no need to say that you probably ignore everything about Europe, just reading ultra-right medias.
. You say you aren't pessimistic ? Well yeah, you are below pessimism, you are caustic, repeating without knowing as long as it suits what you believe in. Quoting this kind of article doesn't hurt your eyes, for sure... The academic level is absolutely pathetic, this guy exists only through this website, 0 bibliography to check the sources/figures, the main webpage is a joke, just a tool to make people scared and keep them "in the great family". You article has one objective: show pathetically that the supposed atheist socialism at the head of portugal is catastrophic.

"The Portuguese Government is Corrupt from Top to Bottom
The entire Portuguese system is designed for corruption with no safe guards against it." => lol, sure

Don't see yourself as someone that sees the future further away than the herd of ignorant -everything not catholic- people. A good start is to learn to have a critical thinking about what you read. You know, people are having Master degrees/Phd for this.
