I have no problem with immigrants and them coming to the US legally (I mean immigration is largely the reason most of us are here anyhow) ..
That said, free reign to just move wherever you want? No.
I was born in America. I live here. I went to school and got myself a job. I absolutely deserve the rights I am afforded b/c I am an American. My having been born here has earned me those rights.
Why should someone else who wasn't born here, come here and then be entitled to things like social security, 401k's, welfare, financial aid ... if you come here legally, absolutely have at it ... but to just come and then think you can have free reign of these things? No way.

What if someone didnt need to rely on social security, 401k, pay for their own healthcare and have their own source of income independent of the USA. Would you still not be ok with it?

This is the way it was in the 1920s,along with having to be sponsored by a citizen and having a job waiting for you also if you were found drunk you were sent back where you came from.

Illegal immigrants aren't eligible for welfare. Also, if taping on the welfare is the only reason to come here, there are countries with far more generous social programs than the US.

If they are paying taxes, I'm alright with it ... but you're going to have a very difficult time when retiring without a 401k. Social Security alone is not enough to live on.

I know. I am saying if the US were a free-for-all and people could just come and live. This is a hypothetical situation ... but there has to be laws & processes.
