It makes me miss my parent's cooking, I can't make Iranian food so I go to their house if I want any.

God, I'm hungry now.

I felt this post hard. I'm half Iranian, and I always loved going to my relative's houses for dinner growing up, or for Nowruz. My Dad is a chef so he was cooking everything my grandmother taught him how to make, but on a whole new level. My cousin recently got married, and my Uncle had us all over for dinner a few days before the wedding. Needless to say I made myself the biggest bowl of ghormeh sabzi one possibly can. My Uncle always makes extra rice for tadig, since I can eat a pound of it.

Lol. I'm going to visit my parents down in Maryland on Friday and I called my mom to ask her if she could have some Ghormeh Sabzi cooked up.

It's probably the most exciting thing I have to look forward to this week.

The only thing I remember was the awesome food as soon as we got to Turkey, so I'm gonna guess there was nothng great about Iranian. I just remember a lot of watermelons there, and we went to Iran on a boat load of watermelons being imported from Kuwait.

I don't understand what you mean here but I assure you Iranian food is great.

Sure people have preferences, but its not an acquired taste like some exotic local Chinese cuisine. It's pretty universally great if I may say so.

The only experience I had, was at an Iranian restaurant in San Francisco we used to dine at, the food was fabulous. I took a friend there, her Dad was from Iran, & she raved about it, reminding her, of Dads cooking.
