Is the rest of the 1st World like UK, OZ, Argentina, France, Sweden, etc etc following as America tears itself apart? Are the mass shootings, murders, shop lifting, vandalism, rioting and looting being broadcast to the rest of the world?
What is the world's opinion on America's culture right now? Is what is happening very exciting for other 1st world countries to watch? On Youtube you can see a lot of police involved shootings. In many countries like UK, the patrol officers do not carry firearms or the populace is unarmed for the most part. Therefore the potential for a gun fight is very low. Do they view American cops as brave action heroes, and the criminals as brazen daring bandits?
I guess places like UKR, RU, Afghanistan, Mexico, Syria and Iraq or somewhere in Africa think we are still too soft.

Over here in Japan the majority of people do not have any idea of what is going on in the US, and do not care. Occasionally on the news they will show some mass shooting and everyone goes, "Wow, that looks scary", and continues their lives.

Right. American cops are so brave that they are afraid to intervene when an active shooter is killing children.
I will say the level of ignorance and lack of self-awareness of this topic is very on brand for Americans, though.

That's what most Americans do. By this time, mass shootings are no longer shockers unless it happens in or very near your town. In that case, the shock isn't that another mass shooting took place, but rather that it happen so close to home. It seems not a month goes by for some mass shooting to take place in some school/mall/hospital/etc somewhere in the USA.
The USA is a very big place. When you hear there was a mass shooting in say California, unless someone has family or acquaintances near there life goes on normally in say Maine. The same happwns during a natural disaster. Oh sure, a category 5 hurricane hits Florida and it will be front page news, but in most of the USA outside of Florida life goes on.
Then there are the statistics. I haven't seen the stats for mass shootings, but I'm willing to bet the average American has a greater chance to die in a car accident than in a mass shooting.
Here we hear and see a great deal about it and people are horrified. To the extent that many people we know will not visit the US as tourists at this stage.
As " the people next door " Canadians are well aware of the carnage that happens in the States every day. We talk about it in our newspapers and on national TV news programs. Most of our cable TV systems have US networks on them. Many Canadians have relatives who live in the States, mostly through marriage. We get the news as soon as it happens in the US. Most of us are no longer travelling to the States because of the risk of random deadly violence. Our Government has recently introduced new legislation to further control the sale, importation, and trade of hand guns. The new legislation will pass in the House probably in September with agreement from all five parties in the House . A recent national survey of Canadian voters showed that 78 percent want the Government to further toughen the laws about firearm ownership and eventually ban all ownership of semi automatic rifles and hand guns. Hand guns in Canada are already difficult to get a license for, and they cannot be carried in public, only transported back and forth from home to a gun range. In Canada even off duty Police officers are un armed.

I still think that the likelihood of getting killed or harmed by firearms or weapons as a tourist in the U.S. is extremely low... likelihood being much lower than getting hit by a car. That is NOT to say the rising trend in violence is not worrisome, but basically you always have to bear some level of risk for anything you do in life.
Of course, if you are worried then it's always best to avoid unnecessary travel.

There simply isn't any where near as much gun crime in most western countries as there is in the US.
The police in Britain don't generally carry guns although there are armed response vehicles and specialised units, and any gun crime is treated extremely seriously, as there is a zero tolerance approach.
In terms of US Cops, the constant stream of internet videos showing them shooting people or even dogs has made them look trigger happy rather than brave action heroes.
However I am sure that there are a lot of dedicated and good US officers, and there have been heroes who have laid down their lives in order to protect their fellow officers or members of the public.
