January - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: might as well be near the equator and somewhere exciting post holidays. I'd enjoy the multi cultural vibes of this city.

February - Koh Lipe, Thailand: I'll turn off my phone and internet off whilst staying on this awesome beach island.

March - Tucson, Arizona: Spring bloom in the desert, perfect hiking weather, and Southwestern food for the win!

April - Kyoto, Japan: Spring blooms and cherry blossoms in old school Japan.

May - Lisbon, Portugal: I always wanted to go to Lisbon, late spring sounds nice.

June - Galway, Ireland: early summer on the Emerald Isle with the charms of Galway and the rugged western coast.

July - Wellfleet/Cape Cod, Massachusetts: Atlantic sunrises and swimming in the kettle ponds of Cape Cod with local seafood dinners make this a happy summer place.

August - St John's, Newfoundland: summer at the edge of the world in my favorite city in Canada.

September - Cape May, New Jersey: Balmy late summer days, warm ocean water, cool nights, less crowds, and a beautiful shore town.

October - Montreal, Quebec: One of my favorite cities, fall is beautiful in Quebec.

November - Buenos Aires, Argentina: Wouldn't want to be here in the summer heat, but a southern hemisphere late spring seems like a nice time to explore this city. November is a crappy month in most of the northern hemisphere.

December - Strasbourg, France: Christmas Markets and old world European charm for the holiday season.

Umm, every day. When you factor in lodging it’s almost impossible to not spend $100 per day now. That’s only $3,100 per month max.

Nice is larger than St.Tropez although as well as the French Riviera there is also Monaco.

You're missing that Brigitte Bardot lives there (since 1958)
.....she hated what it became...a tourist trap...
people gawking at her place ....imo she helped give it international renown.

I get the appeal of Nice, Monaco, Antibes, and much of the rest of the Cote d'Azur. St. Tropez in particular though I've been less sure of.

Default Cities and reasoning

I just answered this same thing but for countries. Again, I must say that I feel quite qualified because I do almost this exact exercise every week when I write my newsletter. I have a huge excel with 400+ destinations and exactly when I would want to travel there. So here you go:

January - Kyoto for cherry blossoms.
February - Cape Town for the stunning landscapes
March - Florence for the art & architecture
April - Montreal for the festivals
May - Buenos Aires for the ladies
June - Barcelona for a nice mediterranean lifestyle.
July - Melbourne for the chill vibes
August - Copenhagen for a mixup and a younger crowd
September - Edinburgh for the festivals
October - Santiago because I love street art.
November - Lisbon for the beautiful hilly streets
December - Istanbul for the baloons haha

Mod cut.
