This survey is not accurate, particularly when you put it in the world's forum. Definitely must people're choosing thier languages, in addition the the comparison between languages has been avoided as a topic in the linguistics field.
But I think -as a personal sentiment- you can find these things -which you bring up- in any language which has great literature.
Exactly. Most people on here either speak English or another language other than those in the poll.
Out of the languages in the poll... I agree with the mass. French wins, hands down. You can cuss and argue and insult people in a loud voice, and yet it sounds just absolutely beautiful... I love French...
Other than French... I think most languages are rather beautiful and "interesting" in their own ways. Especially the ones that I don't understand a word off - I'm just listening, amazed at how anyone can speak it and understand it, in complete awe.
i think japanese sounds the best and then korean. i actually am pretty neutral when i hear mandarin.
what sounds the most beautiful to me is that japanese and korean sound more sharp and modern to my ear. i like their particular inflections as well. romanic languages are nice especially french but they have an old-fashioned organic, fecund sound to my ear that i don't prefer like comfort food.
Most languages are kind of ugly sounding imo. Some East and South east Asian ones in particular, and some Middle Eastern ones. I like Japanese though.
no, it is not a fact. it's your opinion if they sound ugly to you. english sounds quite ugly to me. also, the australian accent sounds ugly to me as well.
adults need to learn to distinguish between opinion derived from personal tastes and facts.
just like religionists need to distinguish the difference between 'i think this' vs' 'this is the truth'.

imo means "in my opinion"
way to go on the attack again
Anyhow, I really like Shanghainese, West African French (it's got most of the flow of the French in France, but usually with a much more lilting quality to it), and Argentinean Spanish. I also find some southern US accents really charming.
