I think we agree on my point that language changes based on many factors, not necessarily politics. Marketing IS an example. Often the driving force is advocacy groups who effect change. Government laws and publications (politics) may be the last to change. It's the term "politically correct" that seems to be widely misapplied recently.
It can be difficult to keep up especially if needed in professional writing. Here's the Disability Language Style Guide. I respect why this terminology has evolved yet may be miscalled
politically correct. An example given this is the Writing forum.

Regarding housing, any thoughts on why the industry is trying to adopt "apartment homes" at this time??
I found it humorous coinciding with attention to unhoused.
