I know your literate, but didn't think you cared about such thingies. I'm annoyed as well. And that lady, the "A womEn" drives me nuts!

Although the spelling and grammatical errors I see are annoying, what irks me more are incomplete thoughts. Some people write in a "stream of consciousness" style that completely defeats the purpose of their post because it is unintelligible. You read them and just scratch your head. Why post if you can't make your position clear?
One thing that truly saddens me is the number of college graduates on the forum who write like third graders. How on earth did they manage to get into college, much less graduate??? It says a great deal about lowered standards in our educational system.

If you are talking about something that belongs to that period "I like 50's rock & roll" the 's would be correct, IMHO (not how you really spell "in my humble opinion). I'm glad you're here to get our LOL, IMO, DH, BFF's all correct.
Not unless you are talking about rock and roll from the year 1950. 50s refers to the fifties. If you made it a possessive it would be 50s'.

That one drives me crazy because I see it all the time.

Some errors are so rampant, I start to second guess myself.

Sorry, dear, some of us like this style. You're welcome to skip our posts.

Out here, we sort of expect those kinds of errors from Cougs.

Coupla things:
1) I hate hate hate hate hate the ever increasing using of "off of"!!! It drives me crazy! It is senseless and completely grammatically incorrect.

2) Does one say "I feel bad," or "I feel badly,"? I can never remember that one.

Well, that would be technically "use" or "usage"...

I guess I'm not seeing why this is grammatically incorrect. Superfluous maybe, but is it really incorrect? "I took the pot off of the burner" vs. "I took the pot off the burner". Can someone enlighten me?
