Hello everyone.

I just found this website a few days ago and there is alot of really good information here concerning almost any area of Wyoming that you want to know about.

I am writing from central Tenn. where I have lived all my life but I am strongly considering relocating to the Casper area due to the seemingly large quantities of jobs driving trucks for oil field companies and/or companies that service the oil and gas fields.

I have driven trucks for 18 years and have noticed the salaries associated with this type of work in the state of Wyoming.

I have watched the ads in the Casper Star-Tribune and also on wyomingatwork.com for the past year or so and it appears that the jobs just keep pyling up all over the state.

I am wondering if there are any companies in the Casper area that anyone would be willing to recommend and whether or not any of these firms are willing to train someone with a Class A CDL with Hazmat/Tanker endorsements and a clean driving record.

I would appreciate any response and/or comment that you may have, especially from persons who now work in oil field transportation.

The oil field boom has slacked a bit. Methane is the new pro word. haha

Wyoming has a streak of coal that runs from the Sheridan/Decker Mont area over to Gillette and then almost straight south down to the Hanna area. Where there's coal, there's oil and methane.

Methane is relatively new to this area so they're currently setting up pipelines to move the stuff. So there is a lot of trucking to and from the methane fields hauling pipe, pumps, etc...

But like I said, you'll also find coal in the same area. But coal has died down. When it boomed, thousands came in and started up mines with primary crushers, secondary crushers, conveyor, train load outs, etc... But once it was all set up, the boom dropped and now the crews that are on those sites are all they need. Sometimes one goes, so they'll hire another, but it's not like during the boom. Almost the exact same with the Oil Fields. But right now, the methane fields are the real hit.

Course, for a truck driver, it wouldn't really make much difference if you were hauling material to a methane well or an oil well.

But with the web site for Wyo at work, take a look at the jobs in Sheridan, Gillette, Wright, Hanna, Elmo. Take a look at a atlas and draw a line through those and you'll have the majority of work singled out.
