Why is it tag sales start and end so early down here? Ive seen some at 7am, some even at 6:30am, while most end at 11am or before noon. I dont get it. Are THAT many people up that early on a Saturday? If I could sleep in on the weekends, I do, maybe nobody else thinks that way? I just find it silly i come to a tag sale at 11am and they are already packing away all their stuff. Ive been apart of many tag sales where its 2pm and you get a second rush of folks wanting stuff.

I'm guessing they end early because of the afternoon heat?

What is a "tag" sale? Are you referring to a yard sale???

I knew I would get that. Yes, a yard sale, garage sale, whatever you choose to call them.

Im not so sure its because of the heat, as I went to plenty of them in March and April when it wasnt above 70.

Every yard sale I have ever heard of in my life has ended around 11am (noon at the latest).

I always thought the same thing!! In NY, yard, garage, tag sales all started around 10am - around 3 -4 pm....AND...they were Saturdays and Sundays. I noticed people have their yard sales even on Fridays. I've been wanting to do a yard sale, but I don't see myself being out there at 6am on a Saturday morning putting stuff out.

I recall we would start ours at 8am or 9am, and we would get people coming by when we hardly had anything setup at 7am. We would nicely tell them to come back later, some, parked down the road and waited. This 7am business is just silly. 7am on a Saturday? Do these things only appeal to older, elderly folks? Im 23 and love tag/yard sales. I also like sleeping in, and when i work second shift, Im not getting up at 7am for these things. I could see ending it at 3pm, but 11am? Seriously? Then you get about 12 of these things on the SAME DAY. How can I go to them all?

That is just the way it is! Welcome to the South... The last thing we want to do is stand outside at 3PM on a Saturday in 95 degree temp with 98% humidity selling our junk...
