on the corner of Jim Wilson and 521 north....Anyone know what is going in?? Walmart has already been ruled out, as the news recanted...made a mistake...That said, we still don't know what is going in on that corner..opposite of all the development going in across from Sun City..

The zoning and planning office in Lancaster may be able to help you out. I assume you are talking about the land on the southeast corner of Jim Wilson and 521 which is currently being cleared. The land on the west side of 521 will be a Harris Teeter/CVS/library/medical building and I recently heard a Wendy's and Starbucks will also go there. Actually, maybe the Wendy's and Starbucks will be on the east side. I do know a very large shopping area will eventually be built on the east side--maybe a Target and something similar to Blakeney/Stonecrest but I think that is several years away. Let us know what you find out.

Thanks for the info!

I found out today that there will be a Carolina medical building, and pharmacy (competitor of CVS I suppose) on that corner.

The land that will be developed across from sun city should start to be cleared in early 2008. I heard that a Belk is def going in there...also, manchester movie theater..Kohles...lots of medical buildings, various stores, restaurants... I also heard that there will prob be an entrance on Jim Wilson Rd...Don't know the location yet...But I do know that the medical buildings will be closest to Jim Wilson Rd.

Unless things have changed in the last 6 months.....

Crossland LLC is developing a complex at 521/Jim Wilson Rd that will equal or be larger than Audrey Kell.

Cornerstone is to be located on about 100 acres at 500,000 square feet minimum while 120k square feet of medical office buildings are to be located on another 42 acres. Expect first stores/restaurants opening on U.S. frontage parcels in late 2009 with larger interior stores following between 2010 and 2011.

It'd be nice to see a different coffee chain put down roots in Indian Land.

Hopefully this supposed new shopping center will have a better parking lot design than Blakeney.
