My husband and I are about to sign the initial paperwork/contract to start our build in Waterside. I would like to know how pungent/ how often odors are present in the area from the waste water facility and Ford Chemical plant. Any information is appreciated. Thanks

Why buy a house then. You should look at everything even barking dogs. Do your Due diligence

Smells are bad from waste water facility. I smell it every day coming down the parkway and going to Hwy 21.

Agreed.

The odors coming from out of that plant are simply unacceptable.

I agree that the waste water plant smells bad on occasion, but I've never noticed it from Waterside. It's a localized smell that's only pungent in the area immediately surrounding the plant (e.g. Riverview Elementary), but not far beyond.

And we've never smelled anything from the chemical plant, either. We do, however, occasionally (i.e. every few weeks) smell the paper mill. But that's certainly not exclusive to Waterside or even Fort Mill. In fact, it's probably stronger from certain areas of Indian Land, depending on the wind.

There was one night I could smell it all the way to Whitegrove. Not sure what was up with that (we had our windows open), but that was the only time I smelled it except when I was really close to it.

Any smells at Waterside (if there are any) are from the Rock Hill sewer plant, not Fort Mill. Rock Hill's plant is right across the river.
