Hi,

My wife, son and I will be moving down to baxter village in the end of june. Could someone please recommend a good, affordable mover? We will need a full service mover, not the one that you pack the stuff, they transport and you unload. One company gave us an estimate of $5000 for a two bedroom apartment. I thought that was way overpriced!

Thanks

In 2001 I moved a 3 bdrm house from Miss to Utah. Cost $16,000. When I move to Ft. Mill, I expect to have to pay about $20K. Your rpice sounds good!

In 2006 I paid $2300 with me packing to move 5500 lbs from Miami to Charlotte.

That was with me shopping around got several higher quotes as well.

I would say your estimate sounds fairly reasonable.

I moved from Brooklyn in 2006. I used PLYCON..they are located on LI and in NYC. Full service and awesome!!!! Cost me less than 2,000 and they did a GREAT!!! job. I also have an aunt which used them to move to FL....she recommended them to me said they were great. They quoted me a price and it stayed that price. They included moving boxes...blankets etc.

Join the military, and they'll move you for free. Of course you may have to make a detour.

We moved from CT in December 2006 from a 4 br home. We left all our appliances and only took the beds and living room furniture. It cost us $6.5K to move down to Charlotte at almost full pack. Your estimate seems high. Remember though that if you are moving down to an apartment complex that cannot accomodate these 50 footer interstate trucks, they would have to unload somewhere and rent a smaller truck to be able to make it in to the complex. On the day of unloading, we were informed of this and we had to shell out an extra $800 just for the smaller truck. Needless to say, we were miffed, and the moving took longer.

Hi, I will be moving from FL to SC/NC area as well - can you PM me the moving company you used? I am looking to use one of the ones you pack yourself.

Thanks!
