Residents can walk to the Arlington Theatre, cafes, restaurants, the central library, bookstores, movie theaters, shopping, churches, and the Museum of Art. Villa Santa Barbara’s spacious apartments are available for rent on a monthly basis, with no initial investment other than a nonrefundable service fee. The monthly fee covers 24-hour staffing, tableside dining service (3 meals a day, plus a 24-hour snack and beverage bar), housekeeping and linen services, transportation, and a full recreation program. Activities such as t’ai chi and craft classes, international dinners, and beach walks are available on-­site or within walking distance. Choose from studio alcove or 1-bedroom apartments, some with a kitchenette and a terrace overlooking the garden. On-­site facilities include a hair salon for both men and women, a library, a TV room, billiards, a theater/music room, and a roof-­garden terrace. Villa Santa Barbara is located near doctors’ offices, Cottage Hospital, and Sansum–Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic; the staff provides transportation to appointments. It also provides Alzheimer’s care.
