Description: Vista del Monte is owned and operated by Front Porch, a not-­for-­profit organization that grew from a California teacher’s service program established in 1928. Opened in 1964, this serene complex features beautiful landscaping, expansive lawns, and stately pines, and the entire complex has been vigorously refurbished to keep the buildings looking fresh and new. It’s open to anyone 62 and older. The complex is located next to affluent Hope Ranch, near the Santa Barbara community golf course, hiking trails, and popular Arroyo Burro (Hendry’s Beach). Vista del Monte offers spacious independent-­living and assisted-­living apartments, a skilled-­nursing facility, and specialized care for Alzheimer’s patients. Residents also have access to a fitness and aquatic center with an excellent therapy pool, an adult education program, and an active residents’ association. If you need limited assistance with daily activities, you can arrange for a home attendant to come to your residence. In assisted-­living apartments, staff is available to help around the clock.
