Description: This elegant center became a reality in 1981 when a religious organization was forced to sell the property as part of its bankruptcy proceedings. The Luther Burbank Foundation moved in and reopened it as a regional arts hub. Wells Fargo added its moniker in 2006, bringing with it an infusion of cash to make much-needed structural upgrades to the building. It’s still going strong, with concerts and cultural events of all kinds. Multilayered chandeliers light up the expansive 6,000-square-foot lobby, which is matched by the huge 1,500-seat main theater. Expect the finest in ballets, choral performances, symphonies, films, operas, and concerts of all kinds in this inviting setting. Comics Dana Carvey and the late George Carlin have taped HBO specials at this venue. Tickets run from $15 to $100, depending on the event.
